Both the Artist Design Station and The Design Center are currently being used
in the following applications:
- Presentation Graphics
- Retail Shelf Space Management (Planograms)
- Package Design
- Illustration and Design for Print
The Artist Design Station features a fully object-oriented paint system,
including the capability to create and save global symbol libraries. The
object-orientation allows the Artist Design Station to redraw paintings at
higher resolution when outputting to the film recorder, thus offering true
2048 pixel/line resolution.
Features of the Artist Design Station and The Design Center include:
- Bitstream fonts
- Full color (24 bits = 16,777,216 colors, plus alpha)
- Full color scanning via JVC 1100 or 2100 video cameras, flash digitizing
in 0.1 seconds
- Link to ISSCO business graphics software on mainframe computers via metafile
translator
- Charting packages for remote chart design on IBM PCs, ability to directly
incorporate data from spreadsheets via DIF files
- Link to industry standard shelf space allocation systems for Planograms
- NTSC compatible video output, encoder optional
- Real-Time filtering and resizing of digitized images
Also available now for the Design Center and Artist Design Station is Image
Lab Release 1.0, a pixel-oriented tool for retouching digitized images before
incorporation into paintings. It features filtering operations, bytemap
brushes, clone brushes, and many other pixel-oriented tools for the artist.
