We are about to get a SunServer 3/280 workstaion to serve as the
central unix machine for our research lab. It will have a dozen or
so serial terminals tied into it along with 4-5 IBM-PC and Amiga
Workstations using ethernet and NFS software. An average number of
users at prime time would be about eight, they would be performing a
mix of tasks ranging from software development to text processing and
news reading.

Has anyone had experience using a SunServer? Do they perform this
function well? Can they handle the load? The system we are looking
at as eight-MEG of memory and a 500 meg drive. The one other system
wee are looking into is a Celerity 1200. Please do not both to
suggest other machines, we have looked at many and already have
several Apollos, VAX's and Micro-Vaxs in the lab.

Thanks...

HAL hears the Amiga9000 series is not selling. "Please explain Dave. Why
aren't Amiga9000's selling?" Bowman hesitates, "You aren't IBM compatible."
