1) How does one go about removing the ridiculous small lines that troff produces
at the top of each page (upper right corner) when using -me and -ms?
I tried the -y option of the pscat program to no avail (either no effect
or messages that I was using non-existent units; no combination of white
space or lack of it in the command line made any difference).
2) With -me there is always a blank final page produced. It doesn't happen
otherwise, so it's not just a sheet-feed-for-the-heck-of-it. (What's more
annoying is that these sheets are curled -- so they jam the machine if you
try to re-use them!)
Neither of these problems occurs when raw troff is used, or using 'enscript',
etc. Just troff + a macro package. I'm sure both are there for what were
originally good reasons (machine X needed it that way). I'm not looking for
explanations of WHY (or recommendations to use ditroff instead; sad to say
but we can't afford to buy it; it took YEARS just to get the LW!).
Any solutions?
