Ok, I just got gifted this mod-t among other things from someone you guys know ajf :-). I own a prusav2 I built as well.
I spooled some old 1.75 pla I had laying around on a spool that fit the spool holder so I'm mostly good.
However, the hotend seems to be a tiny bit to far away from the build platform I used blue tape and I could get through the test print but then I was not capable of getting other prints to stick even on blue tape. I looked for the test print g-gode and opened it up in notepad. Turns out it used a .3 layer height so I changed the first layer in cura to .3 and now it's sticking and printing higher layer heights are usually more forgiving of a slightly higher distance in Z. Mind you this is with blue tape.
But it looks like it's actually hitting the bed gently during the calibration sequence. I dunno how to adjust the z-height not even sure the calibration won't mess with this. Does anybody have some insight about the calibration sequence???
Ajf added a cooling fan on the outside I dunno if this thing even has a cooling fan on the inside originally of if he just shifted it outside. Because of the limited software interface I don't even know how to send manual commands.

Does anyone know if any other groups that might be more active?

Sorry, don’t know “alf”, buy hopefully can offer some suggestions. You might want to have the slicer use an extrusion multiplier and/or 0.2 or greater first layer height. The blue tape shouldn’t be necessary if you have a build plate that’s in good condition. You do have the build plate and aren’t taping directly to the build carriage, right?

I don't know how active it is.  But there was at least one Reddit Mod-T group.
