Have you tried executing a load filament maneuver? That I believe will raise the print head back to the top.

I took out the builder bed while the nozzle was coming down and now the pointy hot [art of the nozzle is touching metal gears and I can't get it unstuck. anyone know how to manually lift the nozzle?

There is a Dial in the back of the printers head it will help you to manually lift the printers head.
