Hello guys and gals,
the following problem after being idle for about a month and a half,
tried to run the test print my friend wanted it as a keychain and the temperature would rise to 136c-141c and then go back down to about 107C then the print fails something is off here.anybody here have any clues what the problem could be?

I tried this and while it didn't help it did tell me something I
noticed even though the thermistor had to me dead cold when I started
heating it read 106C so I am assuming that there is some sort of
disconnect of the thermistor a creeping kind and as it heats up it
gets worse that's why the temp starts dropping again I assume. this is
an NTC thermistor right? from 106c to 130 and then back down to 106
this doesn't make sense.
something is seriously wrong here

Disconnect the hot end cable and reconnect. Sounds like it could be
power problem. If that doesn't help then it may be the heating
element or the thermistor.

In my experience could be a thermistor or the thermal fuse. I have replaced more often the thermal fuse but both have fail on my mod-T.

This are the ones I use for replacement:

Thermistor:

Thermal fuse

Keep in mind that this parts should not be solder.

Regards.

does anyone know the original thermistors beta value, just using any
which one willy nilly could lead to temperature inaccuracies. I mean I
got some thermistors laying around I could probably use but only if I
know the specs of the original will I know if they are close enough.

Usually it's the fuse that's broken. Replace it as suggested, or test it by simply pulling it our of the heater block and shorting it out.

Personally, I just twist the two fuse lead wires together and move on...

I actually checked and well if I move the thermistor wires the resistance changes I'll have to get into it a little more to really figure out where the weak connection is or if I have to replace the thermistor all together.
