Hi!

I am trying to check out mod_pagespeed, but whenever I try to reload
my Apache, I get the error

Syntax error on line 74 of /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/www.mysite.de:
ModPagespeed not allowed here
failed!

The context is:

<VirtualHost 83.xxx.xxx.xxx:8088>

...

<Directory /var/www/www.mysite.de/mydir>
<IfModule pagespeed_module>
ModPagespeed on
</IfModule>
</Directory>

</VirtualHost>

I just downloaded the latest 64bit .deb package from the code site.

Hi,

The ability to configure some options of mod_pagespeed in a Directory scope or .htaccess file was just added in a source-only release this past Friday.  We are working on a binary distribution that will include this capability; we will have it early this week.

In the meantime, you can put the pagespeed configuration outside the VirtualHost, or you if you can build from source from branch 0.9.11.3, then your config will start to work.

Note that the directory scope or .htaccess scope only pertains to the location of the HTML files, not to the resources,  there are separate new options to control the scope of resources.

take it out of the <directory> context.. you can't enable/disable
modpagespeed per directory.

Just to be clear, mod_pagespeed can be enabled in the <directory> context now with the latest 0.9.11.3 source release.
