Varnish 4.0 is out now. Great new improvements!
But, at https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/module/downstream-caching the documentation is for the old Varnish (3.0.5).
Is it possible to update the documentation to Varnish 4.0.0?

Thanks!

If someone would like to prepare updated .vcl for the new 4.0 syntax
I'm happy to test it and distribute it.

Otherwise we'll probably wait until 4.0 hits stable.

It would be nice to take advantage of the new varnish system with pagespeed. Please update the tutorial.

Oh yes, I would love to have it working on the new Varnish too.
Just received this in the mail, 4.0.1 is now ready. It's soooooo fast... it must be great with Pagespeed. Can't wait. :)

Dear Varnish community.

It is my pleasure to announce the release of Varnish Cache 4.0.1.

This is the first maintenance release in the 4.0 branch.
Some minor features that didn't make it into 4.0.0 have also been added.

Notable changes:
* Support for chunked request bodies. (pass/pipe)
* VMOD ABI version requirements are relaxed.
* Persistent storage backend is now deprecated.
* Redhat packages are now GPG signed.

Full list of changes and bugs fixed is available here:

   https://github.com/varnish/Varnish-Cache/blob/master/doc/changes.rst#changes-from-400-to-401-2014-06-24

Source can be downloaded from:

   https://repo.varnish-cache.org/source/varnish-4.0.1.tar.gz

Updated binary packages for Debian/Ubuntu and Redhat are out in the
repo.varnish-cache.org package repositories.

Interested developers may want to join the next Varnish Developer Day,
which will be held in Oslo, Norway in September 2014. Check the wiki for
details.

I'm not sure if I'm reading it right, but on
https://www.varnish-cache.org/releases it looks like the current
stable version of Varnish is the 3.x series.

Ok; great!

I've filed a bug to switch to varnish 4:
