Modpagespeed module doesn not work on 1st page visit

Hi, I am running on centos 6 x64. When I open my website 1st time it does not compress the images nor optimizes content, it does all of that upon refresh. Why is that?

It's designed to work that way to avoid impacting the latency for the first viewer.  The first time a page is shown, mod_pagespeed starts optimizing images and other resources in the background and storing the results in the server-side cache.  Once that's done, subsequent refreshes will show the optimized content.

You can change this behavior to a certain extent by setting the rewrite deadline:
ModPagespeedRewriteDeadlinePerFlushMs deadline_value_in_milliseconds
