website Error every 5-7 days

Hi guys!
I noticed my website is showing Error near 1 time in a week.
This start's when I use pagespeed mod. 

"sudo reboot" help's my machine to make it work, but I don't know the reason why that's happened.

When I use 
$error_reporting = 'maximum';

in configuration.php, it shows the message:

Warning: session_start(): Failed to read session data: user (path: /var/lib/php/sessions) in /var/www/html/libraries/joomla/session/handler/native.php on line 260
Error: Failed to start application: Failed to start the session

Here is native.php string 260:

...     // Ok to try and start the session
260                 if (!session_start())
...                {
...                        throw new RuntimeException('Failed to start the session');
...                }


I thought it can be a google indexing problem when a server is not able to give a response during high-speed indexing. Can this be a reason?

Here is some additional info. Maybe I have other problems with pagespeed mod and my server configurations, which I don't know.

Unfortunately, I don't really know where to look up. I have no strong knowledge in programing.
Could you please give me some more tips to find where the problem is? 

One thing I know, all starts when I wanted to install and configured pagespeed mod. After that, some problems with my server begun, and ERROR displaying instead my website. 
After that I changed my Ubuntu from 16 to18.04.
Before pagespeed mod I have no problems like this, but I understand that the reason can be not in pagespeed mod, but in my new server or smth like that.

I think no but seems related to some issue with storing or readeing stored session data. Check file permisions or database issues with session data instead.

Session data can be stored in filesystem or in database.
You use fiesystem as stated in the error message:

Warning: session_start(): Failed to read session data: user (path: /var/lib/php/sessions) in /var/www/html/libraries/joomla/session/handler/native.php on line 260
Error: Failed to start application: Failed to start the session

Is /var/lib/php/sessions location writable for the user that runs joomla?

I was looking for /var/lib/php/sessions through my filezilla, and this folder is not open to me.
I see 733 permission settings.
I also don't know what user runs joomla) When I was creating this server I created the only user for database runing. Is that the same user who run the joomla?

Can you help me what to do next?

Normaly in Ubuntu the user is www-data if you don´t make any changes.
I see you are using apache, so (normaly) the config file can be apache.conf or httpd.conf or apache2.conf and can be in /etc/apache2.

In file /etc/passwd you can see a list of users.

Find a file called php.ini, in this file seek for session.save_path, in this variable the path where session is stored is set. This is rigth for the CLI (executing php on command line). you can view it executing 
php -i | grep session.save_path .

But apache can execute php in 2 ways mod_php ir php-fpm. In the 1st form, the use the php.ini value (normaly you can found it at /etc/php/*/apache2/php.ini,* can be php5 or php7. If php-fpm is used,
you need to find a file in /etc/php-fpm.d/ with the conf extension, in the file can exists the same variable (session.save_path).

The path apache are using, must be writable for www-data user.

I was looking for /etc/php-fpm.d/, and I have no such folder.
I use php 7.1.

If I execute php -i | grep session.save_path I see
$ php -i | grep session.save_path session.save_path => /var/lib/php/sessions => /var/lib/php/sessions

when I go to /etc/php/7.1/apache2/php.ini I see next:

After that I was looking for solutions in the internet and find:
1. To set up /tmp instead of session.save_path => /var/lib/php/sessions
Just open php.ini and set up session.save_path - /tmp
but I didn't do that, because as I read in the describtion above some additional steps are needed.

2. or to use 
sudo chown -R www-data:www-data /var/lib/php/sessions

as I understand this will change owner/group of this folder and folders inside on www-data:www-data that is writable for Joomla.

This error occured 1 time in a week, or so. I don't know the reason when and why. Last 2 weeks I didn't see it.

I try to use cmod 777 for session for session folder, maybe this will help? When I use 777, I can open the folder and it is empty.

Don't you know why it can be so?
