Hello,

On few of my domains (with wordpress) I am getting this message
  1. CSS combine opportunities missed: 100.00%
Any pointers on how to start finding the cause of same.

Thanks
Hemant

Same for me.

Do you guys have a feature requirement where you detail plans/ideas for the console? I only ask as to not want to re-request things that you have already thought of.

It would be cool if this started looking more like pagespeed browser plugin, where it gives its assessment of the state of the union, but also includes the what and whys around the "issue", or concern that the console is raising.

It is our goal to make these notes much more actionable, thanks for the suggestion.

This specific issue means that none of your CSS files are being combined. To find out why you can try going to a webpage, add ?ModPagespeed=+debug to the URL, and look at the source code for <!-- comments --> next to <link> tags explaining why they were not combined.

Feel free to post your website URLs here and I can take a look as well.

Also, what does the rest of your console say? Does it makes sense to you?

Cheers,
-Shawn

Thanks for the reply.

I don't have any environments with this beta version live to the internet, yet - it is still strictly being tested in my dev environments.

Do I need something special in my config to use +debug? When I try and use it the pagespeed optimizations get unapplied and I see the stock html source.

No +debug should work by default. You may have to reload several times to get mod_pagespeed to prime the mod_pagespeed cache (especially if this is just the dev version of your site).

Shawn,
I guess it should be ?ModPagespeedFilters=+debug
And that too gives various other comments but nothing about combine css

The messages on rest of console

    CSS combine opportunities missed: 100.00%
    Cache lookups were expired: 39.41%
Resources not rewritten because domain wasn't authorized: 33.15%
Resources not rewritten because of restrictive Cache-Control headers: 1.13%
    Image rewrite failures: 0.60%
    Cache misses: 0%
Resources not loaded because of fetch failure: 0.00%
CSS files not rewritten because of parse errors: 0.00%
    JavaScript minification failures: 0.00%

few things make sense but for other few again trying to debug what might be the issue
One suggestion will be to have some kind (even wiki type) of documentation for each where we can also contribute

Thanks
Hemant

Ill second this (after using ModPagespeedFilters=+debug).

The only debug messages that I see added are:
<!--
#NumFlushes 0
#EndDocument after 3676us
#Total Parse duration 3279us
#Total Render duration 16550us
#Total Idle duration 397us
-->
