Sam Holliday
There are 4 Main points that must be established in Sam Holliday’s testimony:
  • A. Establish the Deans bias versus Sam and Rastafarianism
  • B. Establish belief in rastafarniasm, and how it has supported him through his time of isolation.
  • C. Establish taking of medicine, wearing mask when outside his home.
  • D. Establish you were expelled immediately after attending Rasta meeting broken up by campus security.,

  1. Why do you think the dean suspended you[A-Bias]?
    1. (33) I know the dean thinks I did something wrong to expose myself to TB, and it was my fault I had TB. The dean used my religion to discriminate against me. (32) I think the Dean and Tyler blunt conspired to kick me out of CSU because I was a Rastafarian. and because they were freaked out by my TB.
  2. What did Tyler have against you?[A-Bias]
    1. (31/32)Tyler would say thing like calling me a hippie, or a bum, or a stoner. It was obvious Tyler never liked me.
  3. What happened the day before you were suspended[A-Bias]?
    1. (24)  I attended a rastafarian meeting at Marion Lereges house. When I returned to my dorm, I noticed some of my stuff was gone. I called security, and the person who answered said the stuff was removed by dean unamon. I ended up sleeping on the floor.
  4. How about the day you were suspended? What happened? [A-Bias]
    1. (25)I went to talk to D. Unamom in her office, the dean refused to see me. The Dean  talked to me over the intercom. She told me I couldn’t come in her office because I would infect everyone, and called me a “Lunger.”,
    2. (25)She told me”Your fired, I don’t want to se you on my campus anymore” When I asked her why she was acting so strange she said” I know you’re part of that crazy pot smoking culture, and that I wasn’t wearing my my mask or taking my medicine.
  5. So you were suspended the day after attending a Rastafarian meeting off-campus?[D]
    1. Yes
  6. Did you take your medicine and wear your mask?[C-Med]
    1. (23) From October 5th until the day I was suspended I consistently took my medicine, I may have missed a dose or two when I forgot, but I didn’t intentionally stop taking my medicine.
    2. (26) I took my medicine most of the time, and wore my mask when I left “Home”.
  7. Tell me about how you came to become a part of the Rasta religion[b]?
    1. (17) A lab partner of mine was a member, and invited me to a meeting. I liked what I saw and heard, I started going to every meeting shortly before I was diagnosed with TB.
  8. Why did Rasta appeal to you[b]?
    1. (18)Well after I developed TB, I missed a few of the meetings, but my lab partner showed up to ask how I was doing, and said the rastas had missed me, and thought they could help me.
    1. Everyone in school was ignoring me because of my mask and TB.
    2. Rasta told me religion was something I could fall back on for support, after I started attending meetings again, I felt a lot better, and like I had help and support in dealing with TB.
    3. (19)The support I received from my fellow Rastafarians was important, especially because there seemed to be no other way for me to get the support I needed. Dean Unamon was ignoring me or treating me badly. My family was so far away, and couldn’t help. I was basically an outcast. The Rastafarian Group became my family, and I totally accepted their support system and received the same spiritual fulfillment that I suppose people look for in organized religion. I knew they would do anything they could to help me. I already had accepted Jah as my Messiah, so I was ready to officially become a member of the Rasta Movement.

Sure, anything we can bring would probably be good.

I have copies of the exhibits. Don't worry. We only need one of each to enter into evidence.
