I think it might depend on your code and implementation. As a test I just pasted the entire Project Gutenberg copy of War and Peace into a document. I was able to edit and manipulate the document just fine. 

I am not using any of the MobWrite code, just the DMP algorithm and a slightly modified version of the communication protocol that Kneel came up with.
