I am wondering how the functionality Traktor Pro 3 is supposed to work upon exiting the software. Does it supposed to save your settings so upon the next use you are presented with the same layout, settings you had previous or does it only save certain settings and others require to reset parameter again?
Traktor Pro 3 version 3.11.0 44 is the worst at saving setting if in fact that's how the software works. I continuously have to go into settings and select the audio driver that I use for Traktor Kontrol 3, It defaults to Traktor Kontrol S3 and I use ASIO4All. I also have to reset the Output routing because the Output Monitor defaults to Traktor S3 (1 and 2) for the left and right channel but no sound is heard from the headphones. I select Traktor (3 and 4) because sound us hear from the headset but I should not have to do this every time I open the program. The Deck Flavor i have to reset each time as well because it defaults to Live Input for Deck A which I have to change to Track Deck. Additionally, why haven't "ANY" of the version Traktor Pro 3 SAVE the filter settings on the interface? To its credit it maintains the filter you select for the two or four filter use have set but the parameters (meaning enable the filter and use the + - to increase or decrease the levels) for the filter you have to constantly reset
What is happening is normal, since you have a NI hardware device with its own drivers and, if i may ask, why on Earth someone would ever like to use this cheap ****** ASIO4all, while he has very good official drivers?! I can't understand that....
And yes, you can play it with the mouse, but it meant to work with a controller. And nobody force you to buy an expensive one. You can find second hand old (but decent) controllers, with prices as low as 50-70 euro. Anyone can afford that, at least in Europe. Even the poorest person can save 10 euro per month and get one in less than a year.
And sorry but if this is your case, why do you need Traktor Pro if you are just want to make some fun for you and your friends? Pro means Professional. It is that simple. Professional means some high standards. Period.
@Vladyk _Dj is right that when using WASAPI driver T3P does not allow user to assign Output Record and Master out to the same output channels.... If one has audio with only one stereo out and it has only WASAPI driver, one may either hear it or record it (in stereo), but not the both.... (I did not know that, I just checked on my computer..)
They stay for me the same after restart, but I also have hardware connected to control the effects. Could be that traktor reads from that. They reset for me after I change to a different fx, but that is an option that can be changed.
I would like them to send different messages depending on the direction.
Maybe platter right: clockwise: output: page down (zoom out)
counter clockwise: output: page up (zoom in)
Or a hotkey to move the play header by bar: clockwise: * counter clockwise: /
Or I would just be happy if the could move a knob normally. Is this possible?
SJC> Well you should NOT select your original controller in FL studio. In Windows only ONE application can open a specific MIDI device. Since you are running through MIDI Translator with output to Bome MIDI Translator Virtual One (BMT 1) port, you should use that port instead. If you need multiple applicatinos to have access to your controller, then you go through MT Pro giving each application, its own unique port.
SJC> Typically to light an LED it is a note message and you send a Note-On with velocity of the color of the LED (start with 127). You might need to experiment with colors. In your case you mentioned 91 0A 7F which is note-on message, so send 91 0A 7F back to your controller to turn the LED on and 91 0A 00 to turn the note off. This is not always the case but most controllers work that way.
Your iCue Macros send keystrokes, that get translated to mouse clicks, however understand any keystrokes you send to Bome MIDI Translator will not be suppressed so both the keystroke and the mouse message will be sent. Swallow does NOT swallow anything but MIDI messages so none of you iCue Macros would work correctly. If you want to swallow keystrokes, you will need an application that does that and possible converts to MIDI as well.
Each preset, however should have just the input MIDI device you want to monitor for that preset. With out setting preset defaults, MIDI messages will be seen from all attached devices. To fix this, go to each preset and select just the input device(s) you want to monitor for the translators under that preset.
See this tutorial on how to set up for proper inputs and outputs.
It is only partially relevant since you are outputting keystrokes, and mouse actions and not MIDI so you should only worry about the input.
If your Launch Control XL is indeed also hooked up directly to your application then you should be able to use it that way however if you want it to also translate to mouse and keystrokes in the project file you need to route through a Bome Virtual Port (as I suggested BMT2). This is because as I said earlier, 2 applications cannot simultaneously share a MIDI port on Windows.
So in iCue, I assign my desired shortcut to wherever on the keyboard I want it, and have its output as an available free keystroke. The input in MTP is that keystroke and then the translator is that mouse movement macro with MIDI Buddy.
So I get to put the shortcut on the qwerty key of my choosing, and I also get the mouse actions that are so fast, it just looks like a regular keyboard shortcut.
Having separate virtual ports for the devices broke MIDI Buddy because it only has the one output that the devices have to share among them. So I put it back how it was before. I will keep an eye on the numbers to avoid conflicts. That old fader conflict I spoke of cleared up because of the routing, as I suspected it would.
I never used to have to choose my ports on the splash screen at boot up.
No matter what MIDI controller was plugged in or not plugged in, it never bothered me. It just auto open and closed ports as devices were turned on/off. Now it shows every time on boot up. How do I make that screen go away for good again?
hi, i recently purchased the dj console rmx and the installation has cone fairly well but i have 1 nagging issue that i cant seem to resolve... the scratch button on the dj console only works when my loaded track is paused or if i old bown the stop button while the track is being played. i use traktor dj studio 3 as my dj-ing program [mac os/10.4]. i thought that activationg the "switch to absolute mode" option in traktor dj studios preferences wouldve solved this issue but no such luck.... does anyone know how to fix this issue?
Thanks PaulOnion for starting this thread and Phatso for responding. DJ Phatso, have a question for you? I have the same set-up as Paul - Mac + Tractor 3 + RMX. Unable to activate the scratch function on RMX. Went into Tractor MIDI setup but don't see any entry for "DECK SCRATCH JOGG ON". What shall I do in this case? Thanks much for your help.

Hello Guys, I'm trying to re-install the software of my traktor ontrol Z1, Traktor Pro2. Yet neither trough native acces or to download it straight from NI, nothing seemed to work. I get very close (native acces recognizes the serial number yet nothing seems to work. I get a 'failure' notice or (in native acces) the serial number is recognized, yet nothing appears in "not installed". refreshing there doesn't change anything on this... As I wrote this in de helpdesk of Native instruments, they automatcly put me trough tp this apple helpdesk site...

i wondering how traktor dj softwear is comunicate with the oled display that are built in to some of there controlers. all the buttons and knobs, are assume are comunicate with the midi protocol.
but how lcd is working?
Native Instruments all-new flagship DJ controller has motorized jog wheels with Haptic touch feedback that allows you to "feel" the beat and a ton more pro features. Every order includes free Chroma Caps, PowerTools House Pack and our legendary DJ...
imagine that you want to use arduino, to add a display on in, and then to make this display to display data that a softwear provides. lets say you wann to display the wave form.
or the bpm tempo e.t.c take a look at the picture.
