Hi all,

Since some days/weeks I was looking at Mobl (and some other comparable frameworks) with great interest. I tried the tutorials, wrote some basic code, etc. It really looks nice and I'm far from reaching the limits. However, while I see some activity on this group with most if not all questions answered which proves user activity, I'm wondering about development activity: the current version was released in July 2011 and a twitt on Feb, 28, 2012 (14 months ago) announced that a new team took over the developments and was working on some new release but I could find nothing. In other words, I'm worried about bug corrections, support of new terminals, speed optimizations, improvements, and more generally framework evolution.

This is no criticism of any kind : open source projects grow, live and sometimes die. I had in mind to use Mobl for quick/small projects or for quick prototyping but I don't want to spend too much time on something which development is stalled.

I'd love to hear I'm wrong. Waiting for your feedbacks.

Maurycy

hi Maurycy,

Since the team changed the communication channel is still inbetween the two teams. Which ended up that there has been no news. However the nightly of mobl has undergone some changes/improvements in that time. The development resources is limited as research group however we try to maintain as good as we can.
It is open source, so other people can commit and a lot of functionality is in the stdlib which can easily be adapted by users with javascript knowlegde.

greeting chris
