Hello,
It has been a very useful and interesting week , so many excellent presentations. Thank you very much for the presenters, participants and Ignatia who has put a huge amount of work in that event. I would like to show all of you my apps. which I created for GCSE (Algebra), I have not evaluated them in my class as I have been away from school, I don’t know when and if I will have a chance to evaluate them. I am very keen to use technology in my classroom (SMARTBoard and games were the area of my interest).
I worked as a speaker during conferences in Hamburg and Qatar, I also provided training for my colleagues from school. At present I work with software caller Game Maker Studio which can develop apps for Android, iOS, Windows Phone(future release). The software is very easy to learn and you don’t need any programming knowledge. I was not in school for long time so I didn’t have time to research my learners` needs (Geoff’s advice) I just started in the middle. The apps can be used for :
1. Giving pupils a chance to reinforce their knowledge of the topic at home. They can read the slides, watch the tutorials, listen to podcast and do the test on their own.
OR
2.“flipped classroom” – pupils should go through apps at home (as a homework) and then come to the classroom already prepared. In this case we can start doing work straight away (without need to introduce the topic). More time for group work, collaborative learning, discussion, more advanced questions …
In the future, my apps. will include link to other websites so that pupils can access different teaching materials.
Why not to teach pupils how to develop such apps. Game Maker has just released the light version (free) of the software. I used to ran Games Design Club in my school and I was amazed by what my pupils created.
Idea of designing teaching materials by teachers seems to be OK. Teachers can brainstorm the ideas for apps. which can suit their pupils/environment …
Unfortunately the software doesn’t let me access the phone’s camera, I thought about the lesson when pupils can take the picture and then measure the angle to find the height of different objects (using trigonometry).I am sure that people from Tribal are able to develop such things.
Please make comments regarding my apps. I am aware that there is a room for improvement. Please click this link below to see my apps.

Hi Norbert,
Thanka for the link and info. Low on time right now, but will certainly try out your apps and the light version of game maker.
Best wishes,
Inge
