Good Mornin g Everyone

Thanks for the chance to connect with you earlier on

I recognise that my position and my account on the webinar were perhaps a bit compressed and generalised (ironically because generalisations were what I was trying to avoid).

I'd welcome any reactions and any input that make them a bit more complex and a bit more comprehensive.

Good day!

Some historic analogies about global impact:

I think that the global impact of using mobile devices in our age is equal the global impact of using Silk Road in ancient and medieval times. This ancient global
network (Silk Road) was also "...used by conquering armies, Buddhist missionaries traveling from India to China, and Muslim clerics from the Middle East." (http://www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/544491/Silk-Road). In other words, not only for trade, but also for sharing information and education. For example, "...China also received Nestorian Christianity and Buddhism (from India) via the road." I think that first of all China received new knowledge via the road.
If Internet (infrastructure) is Silk Road (infrastructure) then information is "silk", mobile devices are camels of caravan, mobile teachers and learners are Buddhist missionaries and Muslim clerics.

Thanks Daniyar. I love history and think modern cultures know too little about the past; also I love to hear analogies as a way to reason, often better than logic

Daniyar, I love the way you weave history into mLearning and technology in general. Also the analogy with Silk and the Road itself is wonderful and it makes a lot of sense. Thank you.

Dear John Traxler and Inge de Waard!

Thank you very much for your comments! I am glad to know that we
together love not only mobile learning (pedagogy, education) , but also history.
I think that interdisciplinary communication is good method.

Best regards,
Daniyar

Thanks Daniyar, for remembering the Silk road and the importance of history. Learning has always been associated with mobility
:)
