Program Manager at the Human Impacts Institute

  • 20 hours a week, remote and on-site
  • one-year contract with potential for extension
  • Start Date: February 1st, 2015-February 1, 2016
  • Four Weeks unpaid vacation/leave
  • $17,600 ($20/hr)

We are currently hiring a Program Manager consultant who will help manage our NYC-based education and outreach programs including Tree Care Tuesday (April-Sept), a youth environmental leadership intensive (2 weeks, summer), and some of our interns.  The Program Manager will also help with grant writing/reporting and social media, including blogging.  Computer-based work can be done remotely, but educational programs will require on-site presence in NYC.  Therefore, all applicants must be NYC-based.  

We are looking for someone who is dynamic, outgoing, and has teaching and/or outreach experience, who is creative-minded, and has experience with project management.  You must be passionate about environmental issues and community building and to our mission at the Human Impacts Institute.  We love people who are good multi-taskers, efficient, creative and can show us that they are both great team members and self-motivated action-takers who don't require a lot of heavy-handed oversight!  If you speak Spanish too, that's even better!
