2010 Wisconsin Public Transit Conference

My apologies to those who receive this email in duplicate.  We are working through numerous email lists to ensure we include all potential conference participants.

Dear Past Wisconsin Transit Conference Participants:

You are now able to register for the 2011 Wisconsin Public Transit Conference, which will be held September 26 - 28 at the Holiday Inn in Manitowoc.  Our Conference Host is Derek Muench, Transit Manager, Maritime Metro.  Conference attendees must register by September 10, 2011 in order to receive a $25 early bird discount.

Please click this link to access the website:    http://www.regonline.com/witransitconference11

We have many terrific speakers lined up for this year's event!  You will find a link to the draft conference program when you click on the above link.

Wisconsin's transit systems have faced one of the most difficult years in existence, and we know that your battle has just begun.  To help buoy your spirits, we are pleased to bring in Brett Eastburn as our headliner on Tuesday evening.  Brett is a national motivational speaker and comedian who has been a regular on the “Bob & Tom Show.”  He was born without limbs, but that hasn’t stopped him from accomplishing amazing feats in his life, including placing as one of the top wrestlers in the nation when he was in high school.  Our sincerest thanks to Advisor Net Insurance and Running Inc. for sponsoring Brett’s appearance!

Also new this year, at the WURTA Board of Director’s request, the WURTA Maintenance Committee will hold their quarterly meeting in conjunction with the conference on Tuesday, September 27.  We sincerely hope that all systems will be able to allow their maintenance personnel to attend this meeting.  There is NO COST for Maintenance Committee members to attend the conference on Tuesday, and they will join us for lunch.  They will be able to meet with vendors during the Vendor Exhibition from 1:30 – 3:30 pm.  Maintenance personnel should not register online for their quarterly meeting, but rather, let Jason Zachow, WURTA Maintenance Committee Chair (Waukesha), know if they plan to attend.

For our vendor friends, you will find a copy of the Vendor Information sheet for the conference when you enter the registration website.  PLEASE consider sponsoring our fine event!  We have greatly expanded our invitation list to include the entire transportation community in Wisconsin, including those providers of specialized transit.  New this year, there are varying levels of sponsorship.  You will read more information about sponsorship opportunities in the Vendor Information sheet.

We look forward to seeing you this fall in Manitowoc!

 Sincerely,

Gwen Larson

Pam,
I was unable to open the draft of the conference. Can you send me a list of scheduled topics/trainings that will be presented?
Thank you,
Michele Manley
