Hi Richard,

Can you specify what you mean by travel trainer? A person who orients a new user to a transit system is providing travel orientation; someone who spends 1-40 sessions with an individual (usually with a disability) in not only using transportation but also in negotiating the built environment around transportation plus other skills is a travel trainer.

Thanks

What I am looking for would be the second description you had listed.

Hi again,

Thanks for the clarification. The best resource on travel trainers is Project ACTION, based at Easter Seals' offices in D.C. That organization has an on-line forum for travel trainers as well as a train-the-trainer program for travel trainers. I do not see any travel training position descriptions on the website, but I am sure if you e-mailed Karen Wolf-Branigin (kwolfb...@easterseals.com), who is in charge of travel training for Project ACTION, she can assist you.
