What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. when I run traceroute (eg, traceroute google.com) I see the error:
icmp socket: Operation not permitted

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
IOS 3.1.3
364.1-10

please help

Run traceroute as root

By the way, my traceroute (apt://mtr) should help

But when i run as root , i have new error : findsaddr: failed

I got it in IOS 6 jailbreak
I did an ifconfig to get the interface to, in this case, mobile phone data.
su tracerout -i pdp_ip0 url

not sure if su is required..
