I just want to say thanks (belatedly) for a great Barcamp Mobile NYC.

It certainly opened my eyes as to the depth of talent here in NY in the mobile developer community, and as this post might explained - http://deancollinsblog.blogspot.com/2007/05/apology.html - cleared up some misconceptions I had about QR codes.

As such I’ve been actively thinking of several projects involving QR codes however have come across a problem.

I cant find any open source (or low cost) QR encoding applications. I want to set up a web application server to do on the fly encoding but so far haven’t been able to find anything apart from high cost OR single line (eg url or simple txt) programming encoders.

Is this just the way it is or is there somewhere else I should be looking.

Hi Dean,

Thanks for the email--sorry it's taken a while to get back to you.  Alexis would definitely be the one to help you out--he's in China for the next couple of months so I'm forwarding this to his email and hopefully he can get back to you sometime soon.

Cheers,
Indira
