Dag Joris,

Deze error wordt gegenereerd bij het aanroepen van
authorize_request_token. Voor je deze kan aanroepen moet je echter
eerst een request token aanvragen op de request_token url. Hier vind
je een beknopte uitleg van de OAuth protocol flow:

Bedankt voor de snelle reactie Koen.

Zie jij soms iets mis met volgende URL waarop ik het token probeer te bekomen: https://mobilevikings.com/api/2.0/oauth/authorize/?client_id=x&redirect_uri=http%3A%2F%2Fmyurl.be%2Foauth%2Fauthenticated&state=y&scope=&response_type=code&approval_prompt=force

x is een geldig client_id en y is een state string.

Het probleem is dat je het verkeerde pad gebruikt: je moet eerst
request_token/ aanroepen, daarna kan je pas authorize/ doen. Ik raad
je aan eerst een OAuth-tutorial te lezen zodat je de protocol-flow
leert kennen. Hier vind je een mooi schema:

Ok doe ik. Voor de zekerheid, gebruiken jullie OAuth 1.0 of 2.0?
De api is wellicht 2.0, maar OAuth 1.0 kan dat?

De versie van het OAuth protocol dat we gebruiken is 1.0, maar het is
de tweede versie van de api, vandaar de 2.0 in de url. Wel een beetje
verwarrend :)

Zijn jullie van plan op korte termijn OAuth protocol 2.0 te gebruiken?
Ik was op die manier gestart met jullie api, daarom liep ik vast.

Ondertussen wacht ik op jullie goedkeuring om xauth te gebruiken (of tot OAuth 2.0 gebruikt wordt).

OAuth 2.0 gaan we waarschijnlijk niet gebruiken, blijkt niet echt een
verbetering te zijn tov 1.0. Er zijn vast hopen OAuth 1.0 libraries
voor PHP, die kan je toch ook gebruiken?

Hey Koen, dat kan zeker. De reden om voor Xauth te kiezen is eenvoud, vooral omdat ik dan hoofdzakelijk kan werken met bijvoorbeeld js/backbone.js, zonder noodzakelijk via PHP of een andere serverside taal te moeten gaan om de client id's en secret geheim te houden die nodig zijn voor Oauth.

Omdat het aanvragen van xauth eventjes lijkt te duren was ik alvast aan het spelen met andere manieren om de API te bevragen.
Enig idee hoe lang het typisch duurt om Xauth te activeren voor een gebruiker?
