In order to better serve our Vikings and further develop our product offering, we are now — for the first time ever — building our own mobile app scheduled to be released in July.

That’s pretty big news: until today we’ve never built mobile applications, leaving it up to you and other third party developers to create your own apps on top of our API. We’re extremely grateful for the wide variety of initiatives that were launched over the past few years. Yet in order to continue our role as an innovative challenger, we figured we needed to start building mobile apps ourselves. It goes without saying that this app is only a first step towards much more to come.

We know that this is pretty big news for you as a developer as well. However, the fact that we’re building apps of our own doesn’t mean that we’re no longer committed to working with third-party developers. In fact, we’re investing heavily in our API and will be launching a new version (3.0) together with our first app. The current API 2.0 will remain in place for another 6 months after that, so you will have plenty of time to update your code.

We will update you with further details as we move along, yet if you have any questions or remarks regarding the revised app strategy or the upcoming API 3.0, do get in touch with Tom at tom....@mobilevikings.com or +32 472 95 95 24.

We look forward to continue working with all of you creating the very best apps for Vikings!

Looking forward to it! Sounds great!

Will it be in-house development or will you work with a third party to develop the application?

Thanks!
Yes, it will be in in-house development.

Hi Steven,

That's on our roadmap, but not from the very beginning of the new API 3.0.

Greetings,
Tom

Owhhh, Bram stumbled upon the documentation of our new API documentation:) We've developed a new API. The documentation is already public but you're not yet able to use it. We only support oauth2 now, and for that you need 'client' credentials, which we don't offer to third party developers for now because we're still developing and beta testing. But ... the new API will be available to everyone in a few weeks.

If you really want to use the new API already, drop me a mail: maarten....@mobilevikings.com
