Details below of two new papers on innovation of mobile technology for low-income groups:
“
Analyzing Policy for Inclusive Innovation: The Mobile Sector and Base-of-the-Pyramid Markets in Kenya” identifies a three-step approach to policy analysis for low-income mobile innovation, covering critical success factors, macro-level
policy, and micro-level implementation. Published in Innovation and Development, it is available at:
http://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/2157930X.2013.764628
“Conceptualising Inclusive Innovation: Modifying Systems of Innovation Frameworks to Understand Diffusion of New Technology to Low-Income Consumers” shows how the systems of innovation framework requires modification to encompass mobile
innovation for low-income users, and identifies four system domains that must be effective if this type of innovation is to succeed. It will be published in issue 25(3) of the European Journal of Development Research.
For anyone based in a non-OECD location without journal access, if you wish to be sent a copy of either paper for your personal use, please email me.
