I have both version 2 and version 3 installed on my devices. V3 is very beautiful, but I still use v2 for a couple of reasons. When starting V3 there is a most disconcerting long pause with a blank screen -- I assume it is checking for updates to both the software and data. But the blank screen persists long enough that it is hard to tell if the device has not crashed. This is most dramatic when there is no internet access available. V2 does not do this.
The format of 'tonights best' is much harder to use with v3, IMHO. The v2 list has a compact format that is easy to survey. The v3 list is hard to use because instead of many objects on the screen there are only 2, so one must scroll through the list. Toggling short summary is better but the blank lines above and below each field spoils the effect. V2 is much more compact.
I have tried to adjust the light pollution, haze and atmosphere settings but find the sliders unresponsive. Still, I do find this the best application for android to plan my observing -- when there are clear skies...
