Apple approved Masters Gallery last night, so now you can play Reiner Knizia's game of art collection using either the works of the masters *or* the works of Modern Artists.

Our new game is available here:

To celebrate the occasion (and make it cheap for any fans who would like both sets of cards) I've put the Modern Art Card Game on sale for $.99 through Monday:

What would be a nice gesture would be to allow your loyal customers who already have Modern Art to get Master's Gallery for .99.  2.99 for nothing but a new set of cards is a bit pricey.  At least with Ticket to Ride I get different game play and variant rules when I put that kind of additional money into the game.

I generally agree, but unfortunately our options are relatively limited.
Apple doesn't offer any way to discount a new app to owners of an
existing app; if they did, I'd jump at that in a second. For that
matter, Apple doesn't offer any way to discount an app to selective groups.

I also considered the option of offering Masters Gallery as an in-app
addition for Modern Art, but the size of doing so would have put the
resulting app over the 80 MB download limit, and beyond that it was a
lot more complex than building the two different versions of the game
(as we do now).

So, that leaves us with the possibility of offering a straight, general
discount. I don't want to do that now or I'll undercut our initial
sales. However, somewhere down the line we will offer Masters Gallery
for $.99, and when we do that I'll be sure to notify both this group and
out Facebook group for the Modern Art Card Game (
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Reiner-Knizias-Modern-Art-the-Card-Game-for-iOS/434676149885909
) so that you guys can get the discount if you'd like.

Sorry we can't do this more quickly, but I promise you'll have the
option by the end of the year.

This actually may not be true. Looking over my files, I got the final
sizes down more than I thought. However, there were still considerable
complexity issues.

You could do a free app for a day and allow us fans and long time customers to take advantage. If you announced it here on the list, you will get mostly your existing customers, and any spill over from our combined effort in helping to market and launch the product. I bet I am like many of the others here on your list, that we own multiple games that you have released (4 for me).

Here's a link from one of my friends, adding to the Free is Good approach to dealing with your die hard fans.

Thanks for your great games.

Agreed.

Jeff, I fail to see your logic. What do you need Master's Gallery for, since you already have Modern Art? The publisher has every right to charge what they want for their product. It is then up to you to decide if it is worth the cost.
