Hello all,

Couchbase Mobile is ready for action, and that means hacks! If you've got something you'd like Couchbase to show off, and you want a chance to win a Pebble Watch or a Robosapien X, this is your golden ticket!

No need to start from scratch, but if you do have an idea of something you'd like to build, now is a great chance.

Cheers,
Chris

It's not too late to start on the developer challenge. We are looking for compelling app ideas so even a rough draft of your interaction flow could be a winner.

BTW for people prototyping on PhoneGap you might appreciate this plugin I wrote over the weekend that wraps iOS Facebook login in a couple of lines of JS: https://github.com/jchris/FacebookLogin

How are the apps coming?

If making a screencast of your app sounds like a pain, screenshots would also do the trick. The point is to make it so the judges can walk through the app and find the important features without guessing too much.

Hi there, i've got a few questions.  We're build an iPhone, iPad, Android and Android Tablet application using Couchbase Mobile.  It's awesome.  We love it.  We'd love to show off our application (which encompasses hundreds of screens and an incredible syncing mechanism thanks to Couchbase), but we can't post our source code publicly as we actually sell our application to users.  Is there anyway we can be part of the competition?

Absolutely. There's no need to submit the source code to enter your application to win. A quick screencast tour (or screenshots) is all we need. If your app has many screens than perhaps just a few highlights, so we know what to expect when we install it an try it.

OK here's an app I don't have time to do but wish I did.

You could mix Couchbase Lite with any database of geotagged photos (all of them?) and also let users upload their own snapshots. For the most fun put them in an augmented reality or street-view style interface.

We started this a couple of times, here is an old one: https://github.com/couchbaselabs/iOS-Demo-PhotoLocations/tree/master

You could probably use something like https://github.com/SpotMetrix for viz.

There's still time...
