Authorization of User on Xamarin Android app

How does the authorization of users work on the Xamarin - Android Platform.

I have been using this "http://username:pass...@255.255.255.255:4984/default". And I thought it was working, but when I disabled the Guest user I suddenly got "401 Login Required" meaning I have been using the Guest account all the time.

Is there a way to authorize the user? I know the pure android example uses an Authentication class, is there a similar solution that works with the Xamarin - Android platform?

Mikael,

The authorization system underwent a lot of changes in the iOS and Android versions before they hit 1.0.0. I made a decision to not really spend much effort on getting it working knowing that it would be soon replaced.

We finished up a planning session yesterday, and are targeting authorization in Beta 4. We need to finish the PCL support work first, which is taking up the bulk of Beta 3.

If you can't wait a couple of weeks and need basic HTTP auth sooner, let me know I'll see what I can do.
