Job Description – Business Analyst (Capital Markets & Pricing)

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with expertise in Capital Markets and Pr to support front, middle, and back-office initiatives. The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, product owners, and technology teams to gather requirements, analyze pricing workflows, and deliver solutions that improve trading, valuation, and regulatory reporting processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements for Capital Markets applications.
- Work with traders, portfolio managers, risk teams, and operations to understand pricing and valuation requirements.
- Analyze pricing models, market data, and valuation methodologies across asset classes.
- Create Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirement Documents (FRDs), user stories, and process flows.
- Facilitate workshops, stakeholder meetings, and requirement elicitation sessions.
- Collaborate with development and QA teams throughout the SDLC and Agile lifecycle.
- Support system integration, UAT planning, test case preparation, and defect resolution.
- Perform data analysis using SQL and validate pricing calculations and financial data.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and reporting requirements related to Capital Markets.
- Coordinate production releases and provide post-implementation support.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst.
- Strong experience in Capital Markets and Pricing.
- Knowledge of financial instruments such as Equities, Fixed Income, Bonds, FX, Derivatives, Futures, Options, and Swaps.
- Understanding of pricing, valuation, market data, and trade lifecycle.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum and SDLC methodologies.
- Strong SQL and data analysis skills.
- Experience creating BRDs, FRDs, user stories, use cases, and process diagrams.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience with UAT, requirement traceability, and defect management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Bloomberg, Reuters, Murex, Calypso, Charles River, or similar Capital Markets platforms.
- Knowledge of risk management, P&L, and regulatory reporting.
- Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Visio, and Excel.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Nice to Have
- CFA, FRM, CBAP, or PMI-PBA certification.
- Experience with investment banking or asset management organizations.
- Knowledge of Python, Power BI, or Tableau for financial reporting and analytics.
