I'm trying to run the jss7 stack with a digium card connected to an INET Spectra simulated network.  Using mobicents-jainslee-2.7.0.FINAL-jboss-5.1.0.GA, I'm able to deploy the binary distribution of mobicents-ss7-2.1.0-SNAPSHOT  -- I didn't use the 1.0 version of jss7  bundled with JAIN SLEE because it was so much older.  Is that OK?

I only care about is running the ss7 stack but I could never get it to deploy with jboss AS 7.1.1 as described in the manual.  Are there any downsides to using JAIN SLEE just to get jss7?

Thanks in advance.

Longer startup and higher resource usage are the first things that come
to mind. That's like driving a truck to get the groceries, though, many
people do that. :)

If you don't intend to use JAIN SLEE or the Application Server, running
them is just an unnecessary overhead. jss7 can be used stand-alone.

Thank you very much for the feedback.  At this point I be willing to pick up my groceries in a tank if that meant I could talk ss7 to my Inet Spectra with jss7. :)

But seriously, am I the only person who is trying to use jss7 to talk to MTP with a dahdi card?  I've made many post but haven't received much feedback.  A few weeks ago I asked how to compile dahdi support and no one has responded.  I tried asking in the IRC channel a few times but got nothing.  My guess is that the developers are too busy and all of the users are using sigtran.  Do you think that is a fair assessment of the project?

Hello
You can not use dahdi card directly on JSLEE but only sigtran
If you want to work with dahdi based card you should use one server as sgw and second one as sigtran JSLEE node ( either ISUP or MAP , etc ).
For installing and configuring sgw please search the forum for configuration , i have posted an answers with sangoma and digium cards ( they should be configured differently ).
For example with digium you can follow : https://groups.google.com/forum/#!searchin/mobicents-public/digium/mobicents-public/EoMGeukNA2Y/I25LY3ZJHo8J
It has example configuration for dahdi driver and compilation steps.

Best regards

Thanks Yulian.  I only turned to JSLEE because I couldn't get the jss7 to work natively as documented in the jss7 user guide.  I downloaded the "outdated" version of JBOSS used by JSLEE and deployed jss7 to that version and now it seems to load.  I'm working on configuring the linksets now, but so far so good.
