Hi all, i've already succefully installed OpenIMS Core on Ubuntu 8.04
(Hardy). Now i have to connect to the pcscf server through an external
windows machine. I have installed Monster ims client on another
windows machine but still can't connect. What configuration should i
set in OpenIMS Core in order to get access.

Hi,

Not sure about Monster ims client. i have tried using Open IMS Client Lite.
The configuration you need to follow is

    * Public identity: sip:al...@open-ims.test
    * Private identity: al...@open-ims.test
    * Secret Key: alice
    * Realm: open-ims.test
    * Proxy Server: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:4060 (replace the 'x' with your IP address to match your own where Open IMS Core PCSCF component is running)

This time i installed X_lite and it shows this

"Logged in - Enter Phone Number
Your number is: alice
Call Timer: 0:00:00"
but when i check through the FoSS administration site "http://
localhost:8080/hss.web.console/" i found that alice is not
registered !!!!!

how to register ???? May be i should install Asterisk server ?????

If you plan to use Asterisk, you will be emulating a VoIP to IMS call. Such a call will terminate at the I-CSCF, if you go by convention and forwarded to a subscriber provisioned in Open IMS core.

If you wish to use your VoIP client like X-lite, make sure that open ims supports it. The registration may fail. For best results, either use IMS communicator or Mercuro IMS client.

I fixed the problem, it was the /etc/resolv.conf i changed it this
way bellow and then everything works fine (or this what it seems). now
i'm able to register my client (i'm using monster: the ims client of
Fraunhofer Institute FOKUS )

====== /etc/resolv.conf =======

nameserver 127.0.0.1
search open-ims.test

to register using a remote IMS client i think u have to replace
127.0.0.1 by u'r IP address

Good coding ;)
