Does USSD Gateway support pagination of data returned by the
application? If the application returns more than 160 characters, then
should not this gateway paginate and render data to browser adding
Prev and Next options?

When the application returns response via any protocol SMPP/SIP/HTTP,
the response could be more than 160 characters which means it results
in two options:

a) Application could send upto 140 characters with options to navigate
(i.e. application having the logic of adding Prev /Next and adding
pagination support)
b) USSD Gateway does pagination which is typically the case - so this
support is not available

In USSD , you are not allowed to do pagination like in SMS. that
should be done in application level.

but in working experience with application vendors it seems to be the
preferred choice at USSD Gateway. The reason is the round trip
avoided(i.e. if USSD Gateway does pagination and adds prev/next menus
(i.e. menus for prev/next could be anything) then the request need
not be routed to application to get the next page or prev page..For a
menu only request to application to get the data , further logic
should be at USSD Gateway for effective network performance
