Mobicents is now present on Google Wave under the mobicen...@googlewave.com account and we offer 12 invites to the fastest of you to reply on this thread that they want an invite.
I created a Mobicents Public Wave, to start talking on it please direct your browser to https://wave.google.com/wave/?pli=1#restored:wave:googlewave.com!w%252BYZaynch-A.1 once you're used to google wave, most of the core team is already on this wave.
If you want to look for any wave related to Mobicents in the future, in the search box just copy the following "with:public mobicents" without the double quotes.
I was also pondering the creation of a Mobicents Wave certified server like Novell recently did (http://www.novell.com/media/media.php?media=novell-pulse and http://www.novell.com/news/press/novell-unveils-real-time-collaboration-platform-for-the-enterprise-and-demonstrates-google-wave-interoperability-1/), ie building a Wave Federation Server on top of Mobicents. Was wondering what you think of it ?

What would be the role of Mobicents for a Wave Federation Server. Is
that similar to an XMPP node server?

Yes that would interop with Google Wave servers. so that people could install it in a corporate env wihtout having the privacy concerns over google I guess

I hope I have understood it properly, but I like the idea and think it would be a really cool way of sharing Mobicents functions to allow people to quickly develop and share real-time content without the drudgery of having to do it themselves.

Actually maybe we could do that without to build a full fledged servers but just GWave extensions/robots whatever maybe

Mobicents can act as a proxy server between clients and Gwave servers. Clients may publish content over SIP or some other protocol to Mobicents, and it may be forwarded to create a new wave at the Gwave servers or add to an existing wave.
Similarly, waves may be delivered to clients on their mobile phones as IM alerts (if they have opted to receive them) facilitated by mobicents.
Do you think this will add value to the customer experience ?
Will customers (especially marketing/sales professionals) who have an on-field job, benefit from such a service ?

The power of Mobicents, especially JAIN SLEE is that you can really interop between GWave and any other protocols to build cool services in an easy way and I guess the sky is the limit as how to increase the user experience with next gen services.
