Thereare two versions of Cellular Apple Watch. One version made for the US, Canada Mexico and Puerto Rico. And one version for the rest of the world. In theory, buying a watch Malaysia, should be able to connect to cellular bands in the UK. But that is not guaranteed and we are just users here on this user to user only forum. Should you buy it Malaysia and it doesn't work for you in the UK, you'll need to return to Malaysia to return the watch. If I were you and I would not let the allure of a lower price persuade you to buy a watch outside your country, where you won't have return privileges, nor will you likely have warranty as Apple Warranty may be limited to the country of purchase. ANY savings you might get by buying your watch outside the UK, would be gone and then some, if you have to return to where you purchased the watch.

The GPS only Apple Watch can do Everything the Cellular model can do AS LONG AS your iPhone is nearby, where nearby is generally somewhere in the same moderately sized home. The Cellular model allows you to leave your iPhone at home while you go for a walk, run, bike ride. But the GPS ONLY is still subject to the warranty and feature restrictions.

The radio in the Austria model is the same radio that will be used in an Israeli model. The radio should work. The warranty, not so much, and if there are regional restrictions for the Austria model, that will follow you. Although EU countries tend to have fewer government imposed restrictions.

Likely no. There are different models of Apple watch which are sold by region and designed to work with the cellular providers in those specific regions. And Apple Watch warranty is not international. It would be far safer for you purchase your watch in the region you will live and use the watch.

If you still purchase your watch in Europe and find it is not compatible with providers in Israel, you'll still be able to use the watch in Israel, but as a GPS only watch. And again, the warranty will not apply to a European watch in Israel.

I know there are two kinds of models (America and the rest of the world) so according to apple website, Israel and Austria are in the same category. Is that still doesn't mean they using the same radio bands?

The only regional differences I am aware of involve the use of the health services on the iPhone, i.e Blood Ox and ECG. As far as replacement under warranty it is North America and Rest of the World. If you purchase it in Austria and attempt to get warranty service in the US that will not work. It will work in Israel assuming there is support for the Apple Watch there.

Many colleges and universities around the world with ties to the Chinese government, or with large student populations from China, are unprepared to address threats to academic freedom in a systematic way, Human Rights Watch said. Few have moved to protect academic freedom against longstanding problems, such as visa bans on scholars working on China or surveillance and self-censorship on their campuses.

The proposed Code of Conduct is based on more than 100 interviews between 2015 and 2018 in Australia, Canada, France, the United Kingdom, and the United States with academics, graduate and undergraduate students, and administrators, some of them from China. The people interviewed came from a range of institutions, including globally known universities, large public institutions, and small, private colleges. Almost all were from or study China, or have operated academic programs on behalf of their institutions in China.

Many of those interviewed said they modified their remarks inside and outside classrooms because of fears of being denied access to China or to funding sources, of causing problems for students or scholars from China or their family members, or of offending or irking students or scholars from China.

A number of US institutions, including the University of Chicago, North Carolina State University, and the University of Massachusetts Boston have closed or announced they will close the Confucius Institutes on their campuses because of concerns about academic freedom, among other reasons.

As concerns about the Chinese government undermining human rights around the world have grown, students and scholars from China told Human Rights Watch they increasingly feel they are regarded with suspicion within their educational institutions.

Large numbers of students, scholars, scientists, and professors from China now study or work at colleges and universities abroad. In recent years, Chinese government authorities have grown bolder in trying to shape global perceptions of China on campuses and in academic institutions outside China. These authorities have sought to influence academic discussions, monitor overseas students from China, censor scholarly inquiry, or otherwise interfere with academic freedom.

Human Rights Watch investigations found that the Chinese government attempts to restrict academic freedom beyond its borders. To counter such pressures, ensure the integrity of academic institutions, and protect the academic freedom and free expression rights of students, scholars, and administrators, particularly those who work on China or are from China, Human Rights Watch proposes the following Code of Conduct. While the impetus for and focus of the provisions that follow is pressure emanating from China, academic institutions should apply the same principles to interactions with all governments that threaten academic freedom on their campuses.

I'm living in Austria and since my Austrian phone number doesnt support the apple watch, i want to activate my Portuguese one which supports (Vodafone) but when i go to the apple watch settings, says "Apple Watch cannot use cellular while roaming internationally" and I can figure how to resolve it.

Watch Cellular option requires the same network provider as for the iphone and usually requires a contract. The provider will offer an extension eSIM plan for the Watch for an additional fee. It is unlikely you will get a Watch eSIM activated for a temporary period but contact the providers for the country you are wanting to use it in

According to the setup video, i can do it in the moment, i just have to access the page that opens on the app when setting up the cellular connection, but i cant open the page to due the "Apple Watch cannot use cellular while roaming internationally" problem. The button is disabled with that message underneath

I'm an American and recently was given a GPS watch that I use only for pace and distance (don't care about mapping). I'll be leaving for a 3-month overseas in a few weeks. Does anyone know if the watch will have the same accuracy overseas? (Yes, I know that the G in GPS stands for global, but I could imagine a situation where it would work but not be very accurate.)

I made the switch from Polar to Garmin in 2009 while in Afghanistan. It worked extremely well then. So well in fact I had a 2nd 405 shipped to me and I rotated them so I always had one charged and just for backup purposes as it's not like I could just run to the store to purchase another. Still using both today still.

Just got back from Indonesia. Did not run a lick, but used it for some out of the way hikes and surf ventures. Got me out of the jungle more than once. Wife used it to run a few times and did not complain.

Is this a serious post ? Surely not. Just on the offchance, a Garmin works perfectly fine in the north of Sweden. Mine hasn't missed a beat or a metre in years. Right down to -15 deg C. Life exists elsewhere.
