This cozy and chic sweater has an oversized fit, and is the wardrobe piece we want to live in this Fall! Made from 100% cotton, the thick knit is so comfortable, and the asymmetrical collar and poet sleeve add some intrigue to a cooler weather staple. This sweater can be worn tucked into jeans, thrown over leggings or a dress, and layered under our CHELSEA Jacket for a full LEWK! I wear a size M.

This fashion-forward, convertible bag is a style stunner. Made from vegan leather, with a matcha green interior and interior pocket for credit cards, the strap is adjustable to take the bag from a clutch to a shoulder bag with utmost flexibility. The removable cross-body strap is easily taken on and off for a more comfortable fit on the go!

The hummingbird itself is slightly raised, and the medallion itself is slightly irregular, evoking an ancient Roman coin. This medallion can be added to an existing chain, or paired with our RIVINGTON Rope Chain for a cool and classic look.

Last year, I forced myself to get out of my hairstyling laziness/rut by starting a bun of the month series.
I tried to come up with simple and easy to do bun hairstyles each month that were different from the everyday super plain ones I usually wear.

Frustrated with constant breakage and unhealthy looking hair, I started a healthy hair journey in October 2009. My hair was a mystery to me and I wanted to learn how to take care of it in the correct manner.

I am going to TRY to get back on my twice a week blogging schedule next week. The blog has been a little heavy on fashion lately. Monday I will do an update post on my current design projects and Friday I will feature some favorites from the new Artful Home Catalogue. They have some really fun things for Fall.

So late reading this!
This feature on MaryAnn is wonderful. I loved her comment about not letting the clothes wear you because its something I always think about when I get dressed too. This is such a great series and shows how different women have completely unique and individual style. No one seems to be a trend lover yet everyone seems very current. I suppose that comes with feeling good inside as we mature and know who we are and learn to love ourselves a little more.

Cindy I've been meaning to get back here and tell you and Mary Ann how much I enjoyed this post! I could seriously have fun in MaryAnn's closet I wear similar clothes. And I agree. She is adorable in the fresh pretty Doris Day style. It's really been fun to see these 'fashion' pictures, this has turned out to be such an inspiring series. You and Elizabeth are doing a great job ?

I'm so happy you're featuring Mary Ann in this series. And you, did a great job describing her sweet personality. She's definitely one to follow, always positive, in a good mood, and exuding youthfulness. I think her personality is truly ageless, but of course she's always put together in her own tasteful and casual style.

I'm so glad you convinced Mary Ann to do your Ageless Style post, does she not look like a professional model? Sign that girl up. Great photos and love every style she wore. She is chic no matter what she wears! Now you're both my style icons! Happy Labor Day, Cindy!

Mary Ann is adorable and totally a modern Doris! She is chic and sounds similar to me as far as her shopping. I think that is a very California girl thing- a little high, a little low and a good mix. She clearly has an eye as all you designers do! loving this series you and Elizabeth are doing. So fun to read. Have a good weekend.Praying for all those on Texas and we have given too. I hope it all helps. SO heartbreaking.

Mary Ann has a polished, classic style. Yes, a modern Doris Day! Like Mary Ann, I'm always put together, even when going to the gym. It makes me feel better, knowing I have makeup, hair and a stylish twist to my outfit. Cindy, I live in San Antonio, so many of my friends have been hit hard/rescued from the top floor of their homes in South Texas. At one point, watching the news, I just broke down in tears. It's more than I can fathom. Thanks for the link to help, Brenda

Thank you Cindy for showing us the personal side of the beautiful & talented blogger we all admire. After reading your post I can see that Mary Ann is a woman of my own heart too, as I share so many of her values and ways of thinking about beauty, fashion and life after 50. Your series with La Contessa is much appreciated, as it helps us more mature women know we are not alone, not to mention, helps us with the challenges of aging. Thank you!

Cindy,
I love both your and Mary Ann's style. Classic and always fresh. This is a fun feature and I'm so happy Mary Ann was willing to be interviewed. You are both my fashion gurus.
xo,
Karen

Mary Ann is AMAZING. I love her. She is kind, talented, smart, and a delight to be around. I envy her fashion style! Can you please be my personal shopper, Mary Ann? We already know what a wonderful decorator she is! Every room she has helped me with is a jewel. She has impeccable taste and is patient with my indecisiveness. I'm so fortunate to have found her. Thank you Mary Ann.

Mary Ann looks so great because she isn't trying. I'd call it effortless style. She just gets herself together and out the door. Great American sportswear look. Plus a delightful sense of humor. Taste and style that doesn't call attention to herself. She's got enough confidence to just look good!!! Must use those white strips!!!Lovely seeing you here.

I'm with TOF and vote Reese Witherspoon. Henry Mitchell the great garden writer wrote that we should find what grows well in our garden and plant lots of it. I think that also applies to Mary Ann's style. She found what works for her body and her life and she works it with ease, comfort and grace. Chief doesn't hurt.

Love Mary Ann and yes indeed she is the girl next door. A natural beauty with an ease about her that is endearing. Love her style and how she puts it together!! Good job Mary Ann and thank you Cyndi for featuring such fabulous ladies!!

Over the past couple of years, I have really started to appreciate two things that can have a noticeable effect on the overall appearance of an outfit: keeping body proportions in mind and utilizing the magic of alterations to make simple (but large) differences.

Here are a few additional photos from Putting Me Together. Even though this blogger is a couple of decades younger than I am, she offers solid fashion advice that can be helpful to any age group. If you skim through the headings at the top of the page, you will find excellent tips and advice.

Another example from another style blog. (Note: Some of the after pictures may show a style that is shorter or tighter than you prefer to wear your clothes. You can always choose a more moderate version if that suits your style better.)

Hi, Interesting article.

Basically more form fitting flattering clothes, a shorter skirt, higher hem and waistline, more cleavage, shorter sleeved and going from round toe flat mary janes to pointy toes, high heeled slingback sandals.
They all start from oversized more covering longer baggier clothes.

Interesting ideas! I like your outfits and accessories (necklace, boots etc). I am a big boot lover. A few years back I hit an end of season sale for a snazy pair of almost knee length black boots. How I loved those boots (at first).

Last year when the zippers broke beyond repair on the styliish boots, I happily chucked them., with nary a thought of replacing. This winter season I only am wearing the unstylish heavy boots everywhere I go. My feet might not be stylish now- but they aree WARM!!

Let me just say right off the bat that you are SUPER woman! It got down to 28 degrees here earlier this week and I thought I would never survive. ? We had a light dusting of snow and school was cancelled. You Canadians are TOUGH!

I have found a great way to expand your wardrobe without expanding your closet or budget is Pinterest! I peruse outfits I like and pin them. Then, I open the app while I am standing in my closet, pulling things together that I never would have thought about. I typically spend 20-30 minutes on Sunday afternoon pulling together 5-7 outfits for work, complete with tights and any accessories. I get any ironing or little repairs (buttons, hems) at the same time. Keeps my mornings stress free, helps me mix things up, and allows time for a morning work out or some quiet time. Sometimes, I get so inspired, I have a couple weeks worth of work appropriate outfits ready to go! You can also use pictures of outfits from Polyvore, or from pages of any magazine.

It's hard to believe I've been blogging that long. Many of you have been following since the first word was written all those years ago. Thanks to both old-timers and newcomers for being part of our story.

Welcome to a new series where we delve into French Style and what makes the iconic French look. I have conducted a series of interviews with women whom I respect and admire who have each mastered a different element of French Style.

From the classic French wardrobe to French entertaining tips , decor and lifestyle, here are some tips from experts on how to incorporate French style into your life. In this blog post we explore the iconic French Girl (or French Woman!) Style and talk about how to build a French inspired wardrobe.

This week I spoke with Fashion Stylist, digital content creator and longtime friend, Sylvia Colella. Having lived and worked in Paris for many years (she is also the mother of two French boys), Sylvia has a unique perspective on what makes the iconic "French Woman" Style. Sylvia has been a great resource to me as I developed my own style, especially while navigating transitions in career and motherhood.
