Firmwareupdates are occasionally released to add features or enhance the Luxor functionality. To update the facepack, chassis, Wi-Fi module, flash, and fixture firmware on the Luxor, an SD card is required to transfer the data from a computer to the facepack.

Remove the facepack from the chassis by pulling on the tab to the right of the facepack and swinging the facepack door open. Pull the black tab on the back of the facepack outward, while simultaneously pushing the facepack through the door carriage.

Once the designed type is selected, navigate to Update and press the scroll wheel. The facepack and flash update processes usually take between 5 and 15 seconds. Chassis updates typically take a couple of minutes, and fixture updates can take up to 15 minutes.

Note: The Instant Theme feature is not available with Luxor ZD or Luxor ZDC controllers. Fixture firmware on these systems can be updated but there will be no difference in Theme response time. Please visit this support page for the fixture updates when using ZD/ZDC transformers.

NOTE: Please reference the chart below for the correct files for updating each LUXOR model. Updating the facepack firmware must be completed first. Files are located at the bottom of the article. The date code for the controller will be located within the wiring compartment on a white sticker on the righthand side.

Pulling the facepack out will allow access to the SD card terminal. Remove the SD Card and battery compartment cover. To remove the SD card (if installed), lightly push on the card to eject. After installation, the memory card will click into place and the facepack will respond with active messages.

Push the center navigation dial once to bring up the Firmware Load screen. Scroll down to Facepack / Chassis / Flash and press dial once. The line at the bottom of screen should read "Wait for bootload to finish", do not turn off the unit while the update is in progress. The above screen should appear if the operation was performed successfully. After upload completion, the date and time screen will appear.
