Dear high schooler/change agent,

Are you in high school, passionate about environmental sustainability and social justice, and are driving change in your schools?

If your answer is YES, then you should consider applying for the Youth In Action: Green Schools National Leaders Program! This October, join high school environmental leaders from around the country in Minneapolis, MN, for the Green Schools National Conference. This isn’t just another opportunity to attend a cool event; as a delegate you will actively participate in the creative planning and facilitation process of the Green Schools National Youth Summit on Monday, October 25th, that includes utilizing an exciting new tool called a “Wake-Up” that incorporates media, music, and interactive processes to ignite young people into inspired action. You’ll also have the opportunity to plan multiple general delegate workshops on the 26th to showcase high school leadership to educators and administrators from around the country. You will become a part of an emerging team of national high school leaders championing sustainability and social justice on your campuses. And what’s more, you’ll have the opportunity to meet and work with peers from all over the states to figure out the next steps in forming a national high school green schools youth network!

As a delegate all lodging and food costs will be fully compensated by the Green Schools National Network. We will do our best to provide tools and resources to help you fundraise to cover travel costs.

Becoming a part of our National Leadership Team is a two-month long commitment. As a National Leadership Team member, you will:
  • Bring your passions and creativity to the Green Schools National Youth Summit on Monday, October 25th
  • Undertake planning and facilitating roles for the Green Schools National Youth Summit
  • Bring your experiences and ideas to the visioning table: at the conference, you’ll be the very first national leadership team, which gives you the opportunity to set the course for national high school environmental leadership for the future
  • Participate on bi-weekly conference calls
  • Travel to Minneapolis on Saturday, October 23rd or by Noon on Sunday, October 24th for National Leaders pre-conference planning and team bonding
APPLY HERE TODAY!!! Applications are due September 5th, 2010.

Questions or comments? Visit our website at www.greenschoolsyouth.org, email GreenSch...@gmail.com, or contact Ethan Buckner at (612) 718-3847
