Dear Colleague,

TechBiz Minnesota is an annual MnSCU IT industry/faculty conference and learner showcase, organized by Advance IT Minnesota, that provides highly motivated students and employers of IT-related talent with a unique opportunity to connect with one another at an interactive venue.   This event is designed to be responsive to employer and industry needs, as well as the needs of students to work on exciting projects, network with prospective employers, and showcase their work.

> For students, it is an opportunity to demonstrate application of skills and knowledge to solve business problems;
> For employers, it is a unique opportunity to recruit from a pool of accomplished learners; and
> For faculty members it is an opportunity to embed a comprehensive project into their courses that challenges their students to produce a technical product of quality while assessing their non-technical skills.

TechBiz Minnesota 2013 being held on April 5 will feature a “bar camp” format with concurrent, repeated, student presentations about 15 minutes in length, followed by questions from attendees.  Employers, faculty and professional participants will evaluate presentations they attend, rating them on important dimensions.

Student proposals may be submitted through Feb. 3, 2013

Students may choose from project ideas proposed by businesses/faculty OR propose their own project.  Proposals are reviewed/approved on a rolling basis each week.

Get started early, go to:  techbiz.advanceitmn.org

Download and post or disseminate a student invitation flyer with competition schedule and event details.

Please contact me or any TechBiz Minnesota Planning Committee member if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Firasat
