I'm so excited to announce an event that we have long had in the works for educators like you who are interested in increasing female participation in STEM!

IWITTS is delighted to announce the free online telesummit, "STEM Success for Women: Empower Educators to Recruit and Retain More Women in STEM," happening from April 13th - April 16th. This NSF-funded telesummit brings together some of the country's leading experts and practitioners on the successful recruitment and retention of women in STEM. Over the course of 4 days and more than 10 sessions, you will learn...

  • The strategies that led to a 95% increase in female enrollment in one community college STEM program
  • The recruitment strategies that increased female enrollment in intro computer programming courses by 62%
  • How a computer networking IT department improved female enrollment by more than 46% and increased retention of female students by 23% (and male students by 7%)
  • How two STEM Academic Scholarship Programs at Arizona State University retained and graduated over 90% of their students (40% were female)

And many more exciting studies and strategies about increasing diversity in STEM.

Our line-up of speakers includes:

Dr. Sheryl Sorby, Ph.D.,

Professor of Teaching and Learning,

The Ohio State University

Dr. Charlie McDowell, Ph.D.,

Professor of Computer Science,

University of California, Santa Cruz

Lily Gossage

Director, Maximizing Engineering Potential (MEP)

and

Plus several others, including myself!
