In case you missed this, see below yesterday's announcement from the White House about their new science and math "Educate to Innovate" campaign and a link to a New York Times article about the campaign.

At 11:40 AM EST, President Obama will launch the "Educate to Innovate"
campaign, a nationwide effort to help reach the administration's goal of
moving American students from the middle of the pack to the front in science
and math achievement over the next decade. The President will announce a
series of partnerships involving leading companies, universities,
foundations, non-profits, and organizations representing millions of
scientists, engineers and teachers that will motivate and inspire young
people across the country to excel in science, technology, engineering and
mathematics (STEM). Afterwards, make sure to join Secretary of Education
Arne Duncan and Office of Science and Technology Policy Director John
Holdren at 1:00 PM for a live chat on Facebook

Dear Colleague,

THE DEADLINE FOR CTL’s INSTRUCTIONAL DEVELOPMENT GRANT PROPOSALS HAS
BEEN EXTENDED TO DECEMBER 16, 2009.

I'm writing because we know it is a very busy time of year and you may
not have had the chance to get around to presenting your idea in a
proposal, especially so close to Thanksgiving! Well, here's your chance
to fund a faculty-development or instructional-development project that
can have real impact on your colleagues (and/or your colleagues around
the state).

As you may know, the Center for Teaching and Learning is seeking
applications for funding demonstratively effective faculty-led projects
addressing faculty or instructional development topics. These projects
should have broad impact involving multiple faculty members and/or
multiple campuses. Projects can be completed through the end of Spring
semester, 2011.

So, you have another 16 days to get your proposal submitted! Enjoy your
Thanksgiving, and be thankful that you'll still have time to fund your
great ideas.

Information about the program is at
http://www.ctl.mnscu.edu/programs/grants/funds.html. Please let me
know if I can help you at all.

Thanks, and have a wonderful holiday weekend.

Tom

There is still time to apply for Instructional Development grants.
Because it's such a busy time of year, we've extended the deadline to
December 16. That means you still have FIVE DAYS to get your
application in. It's not that complex of a process, either!

Here's your chance to fund a faculty-development or
