Norman and I are planning to do this ride on Wednesday starting at 6pm after work because our schedules to do a R12 brevet on weekends are not working out.

The Northern Pancake is Norman's new permanent route. As made clear by the name there is not much climbing so that makes for some steady cruisung even with reduced fitness.

We should finish around 2:30am. Two weeks ago we rode a 50 mile ride after dark and it was good. With my family schedule I have done a lot of riding over the years after 8 or 9pm but having some friends along will make it more fun.

Forecast is for a low temp around freezing. So this means riding in winter shoe covers, tights, helmet liners, and having some extra capacity on the bike for extra warm layers or if you have to remove layers.

If anyone else is interested let us know.

PS - anyone have the email for "Jeff" who lives in Coon Rapids? He rides a blue Waterford...

Sounds tempting, but the thought of getting home at 3:30 then getting anything accomplished at work the next day pretty much rules it out.
I am going on a bar crawl saturday evening (weather permitting) if anyone wants to do an easy ride in St Paul and maybe Minneapolis.  Costumes optional.

Hello Bob,
I was out of town last week. I hope you had a good ride. If you or anyone else plans any weekend permanents in the next few weeks, I would be interested.

Mark et al,

For those that are interested, Gary Bakke is holding a group start 200k permanent on Saturday, November 5th, starting in New Richmond, WI (just over the border in Packerland) .  His route is the Hills of Wisconsin - a very nice cruise with a few hills and lots of great roads.

If you are interested, contact Gary at gba...@frontiernet.net,  More details are listed on the Minnesota Permanents web site at http://minnesotapermanents.blogspot.com/

Anyone from the ‘Cities willing and able to give me & my bike a ride to New Richmond?
