Here's a few more suggestions from Martin Fahje as you close in on your PBP adventure.

SECRET CONTROLS
We did not have any Secret Controls during the brevets here in Rochester or Apple Valley, but you
can expect at least 2 during PBP.  There will be one on the out bound and one on the return.  I've
never seen less.  I have some vague memory of 3 secret controls in 1991, but I was so foggy in the brain
during that one that I couldn't have told you if Jesus was crucified or died in a bicycle crash!!
They'll be easy to spot, usually some local official will be standing in the middle of the road informing
every rider of the Secret Control.  You walk in and present your brevet card same as all the other controls.

DELAYS DUE TO ACCIDENTS AND INJURIES
Also remember that if you are delayed because of something not in your control, motor vehicle accident,
helped another injured cyclist, that you should get some form of documentation.  This can be recorded in
your brevet book, there are places for this in the back.  If the delay causes you to miss a control closing,
the time lost can be accounted for and you'll be allowed to continue.  I do not think it'll be added to
the event finishing time, you'll still only have the 90 hour time limit.
