Welcome to the Minnesota Photography Google Group!

This message board is an offshoot of the CameraTalk Minnesota forum. I
decided to discontinue maintaining the CameraTalk.org website, but
wanted a place that we could all still congregate.

This board works a little differently than the old forum. Once you are
a member, you can post messages directly to the group at
http://groups.google.com/group/mnphoto. Or you can post a message to
the group simply by sending an email to mnp...@googlegroups.com.
Additionally, you can choose how to read the group messages. Options
include individual emails, digest emails or directly reading them on
the website.

Seems a lot less time-consuming on your part "Dad"

Yep. Not that the other site was taking up much time. But I am shelling
out hosting fees each month that I'd rather do without (that's what
helps with the dad part).

How's the photoblog going?

Slowly, no time....but I'm liking the format alot better.

Owen and Mom doing well I hope?

Both are doing great. Well, the wife has been sick the last two days,
but other than that all is well.

I bought an alien bee B400 monolight a couple weeks ago. Here's a
couple from my first serious shoots of Owen.

Let me know what you think.

Geez -- those look sensational...how much was the light? I need one of
those.

What lens were you using?

I bought that package but with a brolly box instead of a bounce
umbrella. Now I have to work on getting a second light.

The full body photo was taken with the Canon 50mm f/1.8 and the head
one was with my Tamron 28-75 f/2.8. Both were using the single light
and a large white piece of foam board for a reflector and black
velvet-type fabric for the background.

Thanks to both of you. My wife, who's into digital scrapbooking, made
the full body one into our baby announcement. It turned out really
nice. Here's a link to it:

Today, we're going to attempt a Christmas photo of our children! Stay
tuned for those results :)
