winter images

Winter hit  in Bemidji with a vengeance yesterday.  Thought it was time to get a few winter images posted here.  This was taken by my wife, with our little canon G5 last February on Lake Bemidji.....at sunset, obviously.  It is a shot that just looks cold to me.  Exif is here via pbase:  http://www.pbase.com/spatterson/image/39652650

Yup, it's definitely cold! Down here in the Cities (southern metro,
anyway) we mainly got rain, which turned to snow late last night
leaving a light dusting of snow over ice. Just enough to make traffic
horrible. Thankfully, I have a pretty easy commute. I would've rather
had the blizzard like the rest of the state got.

Nice image, though. Could really benefit from a horizon straightening.

Point well taken....Sally rotated it a little here and it does look better, although part of the slant in the original is an optical illusion because the lake is really heading away from you a lot in this shot....it is not just going across from right to left.. I think we ended up with about 3" to 4", but we had about 30 hours of freezing rain before the snow, so it is a mess.  Roads are better than sidewalks, etc.  Walking anywhere Sunday and Monday was almost impossible.  But it does look like a winter wonderland here, now.

Everything is dying but I love Winter, myself. Winter in Minnesota
tends to neutralize things and create some create black and white
images. This was taken while sitting in traffic on 94 near Stillwater
trying to leave town last weekend.
