In the April Long contest of codechef it has been found that 14 users submitted same codes. The matter was reported by some user on the codechef blog. This is something which would be visible to people all around the world.
(Link: http://discuss.codechef.com/questions/8142/why-are-these-solutions-of-different-users-from-the-april-long-fault-question-same )

Well this didn't helped in any way in improving the reputation of our college. Obviously it wont do any good to the reputation of the individuals involved too. This is something which can go on to your future recruiters.

Well we can go and on giving speeches about ethics, but it wont be of any use.

Some of you cheated in OPC's . We tried to warn you.You ignored
Some of you cheated in COD. We tried to warn you. You ignored.
Now when you are cheating on a global platform, its hard to ignore.

I am assuming once again the offenders will not bother. So for other students few advises:

1. Its not about what rank you get. No one will bother to ask you.
2. Nothing beats the satisfaction of solving a problem after days of toil. Nothing. Not even getting in top 20 by copying codes. This is what long contests are meant for.

You failed us. You nullified the effort we put in conducting opc's, computer club classes. avishkar etc.
Thank you for that.

PS: Those who were the original authors of the codes that were copied, please contact the codechef admins and those who copied the codes, please make an apology on the forum.

+1 to akashdeep from my side. The alumuni of this collg are working hard day and night spreading the name and fame of the institute all over the world. But it seems that the future passouts are screwing it up all in every possible way. Even if you have no respect for yourself as an engineer, try to maintain the dignity of your institute at least in the outer world.

This is very disappointing! I don't understand the objective of copying someone else's code. It is one thing to discuss a little bit and implement a solution but here - you all have shamelessly submitted the same code. Some haven't even bothered to put in the time to atleast make the solution look original!

Please remember -
1. Programming contests are for people who love programming and love solving algorithmic puzzles. If all you want to do is copy code, please consider some other career option or at the very least not participate in these contests.

2. It has taken a lot of effort from your seniors to put our college on the Map of Programming Contests, the very least you can do it is not damage it.

3. You may even get away with it in a Live contest but trust me it does not help you in any way at all! What do you think you are going to do when a real world problem is given to you when you work or pursue a Project in MS/PhD - you won't be able to solve it inspite of your on-paper accolades.

Please Stay Away from Competitive Programming if it does not interest you. No one is forcing you to do it. It is not easy to solve these problems and people have toiled hard to learn every single concept they know - please don't take it for granted!

- Ashish.

This is not acceptable by any coder to simply copy others code. Lot of effort has been put to frame a problem statement and not less in coming up with a solution.

These contest are here to have some learning. You are not only cheating yourself by copying the code but also at the same time ruining the hard earned reputation of the Institute.

People who are unable to solve the problem, I will suggest you to wait for the contest completion and you will see bunch of good solutions rather than cheating and boasting around your accomplishment.

Old monthly contest at Codechef and SRMs at Topcoder are already available with solutions if real time questions are not your piece of cake.

Seriously, I don't understand such kind of behavior. This year, I am hearing more about cheating and all. You guys don't have any idea, how hard the process is of making good questions and hosting that as a live event. Final years are doing great job by conducting regular OPCs for the sake of improving coding skills of their coming juniors. Can't you guys understand what would they get for themselves teaching you such lessons and putting their most relaxing and enjoying days in creating a platform for you all?

If you keep on behaving like this, what will you guys give to your juniors? and what will be the reputation of our collage in that case? Awesome companies are coming to our collage for recruitment due to effort our alumni have put and image they have maintained.

For those who are willing to do these things and feel satisfactory, please don't do this on live events like codechef or not even participate, it is globally visible  and if you mention your collage name by chance, it would directly effect our collage's reputation and at least Directi won't come for recruitment.

Please improve on what you have done and try not to do this again.
