Hello Butterfly Watchers,
It is still possible to have a good day of butterfly watching, but it varies a lot from place to place.  Today (Tuesday the 3rd) I saw 12 species at the Sax-Zim wildlife refuge.  They included 4 viceroys, 8 silver-bordered fritillaries, 1 Milbert's tortoiseshell, 1 buckeye (very bright and fresh looking), 1 red admiral (the 1st of the season for me, also very bright and fresh), and 2 Aphrodite fritillaries.  The butterfly season is not over yet; get out and enjoy these nice late-summer days.
