The Scholars for Change Campaign at IIM Ahmedabad is excited to announce that applications are now open for Summer Internships (work from home) for the period of 8th June - 8th July. All interns who complete the program requirements will receive an official certificate from IIM Ahmedabad.

About Scholars for Change
This campaign seeks to give to underprivileged children of grade 6 to 8 access to high quality, interesting content in Science and Math, so that they can learn on their own, in their own language, with fun and play. The content will be made available through a forum for innovative teachers, www.teachersastransformers.org, and will be accessed through school computers or, if some children have access at home, through home computers. Teachers will also act as facilitators to topic, addressing any questions that children may have after viewing the content
The campaign is a great way for students to contribute to knowledge creation that aids Indian students.
About the Internship:
In ‘Scholars for Change’ campaign Phase 1 We had more than 4,000 videos in Maths and Science but some of them were not good quality wise. So, this time we want to focus more on quality of video and we will collect created videos or used by government primary school teachers while teaching. So we’ve come up with Phase-4 this time around.
If you are a proficient student and want to volunteer to help children studying in government elementary schools by creating and collecting high-quality open-access multimedia multilingual content in Science and Math, here is your chance.
The Internship is Work from Home type. Every student with a willingness and desire to contribute for the campaign is welcome to apply.
We have two roles for you to choose from. Both are equally significant. Selection of any one of these roles depends upon your availability and skills

Period of Internship: 8th June, 2015 to 8th July, 2015.
Last date of Application: 6th June,2015
What are these two roles?
1. Knowledge Associate:
Knowledge associates are full time interns who will create videos on their own with the help of primary school teachers. (Topics on which you have to create videos will be provided.)
For maintaining quality of video content wise, we want our interns to have one mentor (Guide) who must be primary school teacher.
Tasks:
Creation of short 5 minute videos on topics of Class 6-8 in the areas of Maths or Science.
Translating existing videos (such as Khan Academy videos) into regional languages.
On and above this, if KAs collect videos form teachers they will get points for that also.
You will be awarded points accordingly. Point system will be used for promotion purposes, details of the same will be put across once the internship starts.
2. Campaign Associate:
Campaign Associates are those interns who are not able to do this internship for full time.
Tasks:
They can take help or give their work to their friends or any other person, who will be called 'Contributor' and he/she will work under Campaign Associates and create videos with the help of Primary school teachers.
(Contributor does the same job as a knowledge associate, but not under us, under a Campaign Associate.)
To earn more points for Promotion, it is imperative for a CA to hire as many Contributors as he can.
Campaign Associates will be given right to award certificates to Contributors. Certificate of contributors will be provided by IIMA.
What are the rewards?
As if the association with the brand IIMA is not enough, we offer you a plethora of rewards that can incentivize you to work even harder and gain more and more points.
Knowledge and Campaign Associates that successfully complete the internship will be awarded an official certificate from IIM Ahmedabad.
High performers have the opportunity of being offered a summer internship (On campus) at IIM Ahmedabad either in winter 2015 or in summer 2016.
High performers will also receive cash prizes, Special Recommendation Certificates and a Best Intern Award.
