The executive summary is that I was largely off the bike for most of
the month since the Almanzo and really struggled with the first 50
miles of headwind. I finally felt good for miles 55-90, so I guess
I've found my kind of riding. It wasn't as pretty or dynamic as
Almanzo, but the winning times were something like 1/2 hour faster
despite the extra 6.5 miles. Fewer tandems, more fixies, fun race and
excellent post-race food.

* I too did very little training between races
* I managed about 8-1/2 hours vs my 9 hours Almanzo time
* Ran 42x19 vs 39x19 in Almanzo, only walked up a couple hills
* The check-in crew in Watertown didn't know where the grocery store
was, but I found it
* The headwind through mile 60+ was harsh
* The Luce Line was pretty and shaded, but monotonous and soft
* The looser gravel was difficult, especially noticed this miles 70-90
* Fun day, scenic route, mobile phone & data coverage
* Around mile 40 on a short paved stretch a guy on a Cervelo time
trial bike told me we're crazy
* Still loving my SS Handsome Devil
* Thanks to the several nice racers I met on the road
* Thanks to Luke F for a ride to the race in the morning
