Turns out many of us have not ridden the nice ride bikes, it would be
fun to take them for a little ride this sunday? Bill and I were
discussing the idea, any interest from the folks on the list?

Four Foot Meat Rope could take them on Almanzo!

I wouldn't mind trying one of those Nice Bikes. I wonder if one can be
adapted to fit my freakish proportions. Not sure what I have going on
this weekend. What time and where are you guys thinking of meeting?
Oh, and who or what is Four Foot Meat Rope???

Shaun we are 4 foot meat rope, you, Jim, Bill and I for the Almanzo gents race.
Aleisha's 30th birthday party is the night before, so I'm not starting
anything before 10 :).

I propose the 25th Street & 33rd. Ave. S. Station at 10:00 on Sunday.
Route can be decided from there? I plan to ride to the station (and
Shaun you're more than welcome to come to my place as usual) just
incase we have to hit a few stations to collect enough bikes.

Slight disclaimer, in the interest of keeping the nice ride bikes for
those who need them I'm not planning a terribly long ride, just a
quick loop of the city. If folks want to do something more with our
own rides (perhaps the river bottom's or some other less often visited
part of the city) I'd be down.
Thanks,
Josh

Isn't 'Four Foot Meat Rope' an extension of the Legion of Doom?

Lex gets pretty pissed when we talk about it in public though.

I think the proper term would be 'appendage'.

I'd be fine with a little city loop, i'd just like to try them out. I
am planning to do either a longer (hopefully gravel) ride or trail
ride on Saturday if anyone's interested, time and destination TBD.

We're Four Foot Meat Rope? I thought we were The Men From Nantucket.
What's the story behind the FFMR name?

I forgot that I have a date to go mountain biking with my wife at Lake
Elmo on Sunday, so I won't be able to make the Nice Bike ride. It's
probably a good thing because Chequamegon is coming up and I haven't
been off-road much at all this year. It'll also be good training for
the Gent's Ride. I don't want to let down the FFMR! There's a bad pun
there somewhere...

On a semi-recent road trip, I searched long and hard to find a four
foot meat rope at the various gas stations where we stopped to refuel.
Eventually I found one, and it turns out that it was very low quality,
as far as meat goes. Anyway, I retold this story on our provisionally
failed Winona bimodal ride - I think Shaun was there - and somebody
thought it sounded like a good team name. It was thereby decided by
nobody in particular, and Josh sent in the postcard.

Now, that you mention it Jim, I do remember you telling that story
during the unimodal. Pity that one cannot find a high-quality four
foot meat rope anywhere these days. I think Josh was searching for a
delicious gas station taquito during that ride and was unsuccessful.
I'm shocked that no team went with "Cutters" as a team name!
